All G7 restrictions lifted as of 18 June 2026. Geneva Airport (LSGG) has returned to normal operations. PPR for charter flights is back in effect. All 35 border crossings between Geneva and France are open. Business aviation operating normally.

Post-G7 works phase active at LSGG from 21 June. CAT II and III approaches unavailable until 3 July 0330 UTC. Taxiway Alpha closed until 1 July. Crews must be on AIRAC 006/2026 before any LSGG operation. See Section 02 below.

Current Status at LSGG

The G7 Summit concluded on 17 June 2026. The airspace restriction over Geneva, Lausanne, and the Lake Geneva region lifted at 03:00 local time on 18 June as planned. All business aviation and general aviation restrictions are now lifted. The airport is back to normal operations.

Post-G7 Works Phase at LSGG, 21 June to 3 July

Geneva Cointrin moves directly from G7 restrictions into a planned works phase from the night of 21 June with no operational gap. All crews planning LSGG operations during this period must review the following before departure.

CAT II and III approachesNot available until 3 July 0330 UTC. Stop bar at Taxiway Alpha is unserviceable. Plan alternatives for all low visibility operations during this period.
Taxiway Alpha closureClosed between parking position 58 and Bay Alpha from 21 June until 1 July 0330 UTC. When Runway 22 in use, expect departures via Taxiway B. When Runway 04 in use, plan to vacate via Taxiway B at the latest. Declared distances must be checked against aircraft performance.
Stop bars Papa, Bravo, CharlieUnserviceable from 21 to 22 June. Bay Papa also closed during this period.
AIRAC amendment 006/2026Permanently in effect at LSGG. Updates LVP procedures. Crews must verify they are on current charts before any LSGG operation from 21 June onward. Do not operate from outdated plates.

Summit Overview, For Reference

The 52nd G7 Summit was held in Évian-les-Bains, France, from 15 to 17 June 2026. The event generated the most significant aviation and ground disruption in the Geneva region since the 2003 G8 in Évian. Below is a summary of the measures that were in place.

Airspace restrictionActive from 10 June 13:00 LT to 18 June 03:00 LT. 25 NM restricted zone around Lausanne and Évian. Geneva Airport additionally restricted. VFR prohibited. State and military aircraft absolute priority.
GA and BA parking banSouth stands prohibited from 14 June 1900 UTC to 17 June 2159 UTC.
Helicopter standsAll stands HP1 through HP6 unavailable from 15 to 17 June 2159 UTC except for specifically authorised helicopters.
Border crossings28 of 35 Geneva to France crossings closed from 12 to 18 June. Only 7 permitted: Anières, Moillesulaz, Thônex Vallard, Bardonnex, Perly, Meyrin, and Ferney Voltaire.
A1 motorwayClosed from Geneva Airport toward France from 15 to 17 June. Mandatory forced exit at Meyrin, Vernier, or Genève Centre for traffic from Vaud.
Évian access zonesRed Zone around summit venue restricted to accredited delegations only. Blue Zone covering Évian, Neuvecelle, and Publier required a QR code pass for all persons over 13.

  • A0423/26Expired 17 June 2159 UTC. Full ATC restriction, state and military priority, VFR prohibited, no PPR, no alternate or diversion.
  • A0424/26Expired 17 June 2159 UTC. GA and BA parking prohibited at south stands.
  • A0437/26Expired 18 June 2159 UTC. Taxiway Link 0 (Inner) closed.
  • A0422/26Expired 13 June 2159 UTC. Helicopter stands HP1 and HP2 closed.
  • B1044/26Expired 12 June 0359 UTC. Heli position H2 closed, size limits on north stand.

What Operators Need to Know Now

  • LSGG is back to normal — file PPR for charter flights as standard, normal parking and taxiway operations apply
  • All borders open — standard crossing procedures between Switzerland and France, no enhanced checks
  • Crane obstacle still active — NOTAM A0454/26 valid until 10 September 2026, brief all crews
  • CAT II and III unavailable until 3 July 0330 UTC — plan alternatives for low visibility approaches from 21 June
  • Taxiway Alpha closed from 21 June — verify departure and arrival routing against current NOTAMs
  • Check AIRAC 006/2026 compliance — mandatory for all LSGG operations from 21 June, do not operate from outdated plates
  • Monitor LSGG NOTAMs through 3 July for progressive normalisation of works phase
